5 signs a contractor will get the job done right

1) First and foremost does your contractor have a license number issued by the State of North Carolina? This insures that he or she has both the education, experience and assets to accomplish your project. There are strict requirements to first receive your State License and yearly mandatory educational updates to continue to legally operate in our State. If so then they are kept abreast on new codes and latest building materials and practices that the local handyman may not be aware of.

2.) Is your G.C. fully insured to do the work that you wish to contract them to do? You should only hire someone who is insured so you can feel confident that your job will go smoothly.

3.) Does your Contractor only hire other licensed and insured tradesmen. If so you can be assured when they call someone in to help complete your project that they are as competent as your G.C. because he is essentially responsible for their participation in your project. You can trust they will fully meet your expectations.

3.) Has this Contractor been in business for any length of time and have they weathered the storms of changing economic climates. If this is the case you can feel confident that they can comfortably meet your individual needs.

5.) Does this business work for other local legitimate businesses and private individuals who can attest to their competence. Feel free to ask for references and recommendations from past or current clients.
